Import vehicle preparation report - 2015 Daihatsu Copen Xplay LA400K Khaki (Part 2)

Today, we'll be discussing the replacement of the lift-up springs and the stock dampers on a 2015 Daihatsu Copen Xplay LA400K (khaki) with a Mofac lift-up suspension kit.

As you may know, gas-filled damper products are classified as hazardous materials by sea and air freight companies. This makes shipping even a single set difficult, as it involves complicated procedures and additional charges.

Furthermore, the labour cost of replacing the parts in Japan before loading the car onto the ship is lower than the air freight cost, making it a more cost-effective option.

Therefore, we'll opt for the Mofac lift-up suspension kit. This kit provides a lift of approximately 2 inches and, because it replaces the entire damper assembly, it maintains sufficient suspension stroke, resulting in a comfortable ride.

Since new kits are expensive, we received a used kit from Mofac with approximately 30,000 km (18,750 miles) of use. This makes the vehicle about half its age.

As such, the stock wheels often feel a bit underwhelming. Therefore, we've also procured the classic WORK CRAG T-GRAVIC wheels! These were also provided as new stock by Mofac.

The wheel size, tyre brand, and suspension settings will be finalised once the vehicle arrives at our workshop in the UK, and we'll report back then. Stay tuned!
