Import vehicle preparation report - 2015 Daihatsu Copen Robe S LA400K Blue (Part 1)

The 2015 Daihatsu Copen Robe S LA400K (blue), which we recently acquired at auction, has arrived at our partner Wadachi's inspection facility.

Being a 2015 model, this vehicle is exempt from IVA inspection, allowing us to import modifications without any hassle. However, it must pass the MOT inspection; therefore, any excessive modifications will be reverted to stock parts. We will ensure that all missing or faulty parts are repaired prior to shipment.

For the second-generation Copen, we have determined that it’s more efficient to procure and replace parts domestically in Japan before shipment. This approach enables us to conduct thorough inspections and maintenance as preventive measures, in alignment with Japan’s stringent legal requirements.

Additionally, we are fully prepared to replace parts with aftermarket options at this stage, should the customer desire.

Now, let’s review the inspection results from today.

The engine area is essentially standard, but the previous owner has made several modifications, as evidenced by the photos. There are no issues with its condition, so we will proceed with the planned fluid maintenance.

The exhaust system features a FUJITSUBO exhaust, a definite selling point that customers will appreciate.

Regarding the exterior, this vehicle features a rear wing, rear diffuser, and a centre fog light. Combined with the exhaust, the rear section of this Robe S is particularly attractive.

Inside, the black interior package boasts an illuminated wind deflector, a Dsport footrest, and a blue mirror.

The windshield does have a few small stone chips; however, it is perfectly acceptable for import as is. The bodywork diagram from the auction centre indicates minor scratches and dents, which we will address using our deep-cut polish technique to achieve optimal results.

Both the active top and the test drive results are satisfactory.

As a high-spec S-grade model, this vehicle comes equipped with Bilstein dampers, a limited-slip differential (LSD), a Momo steering wheel, and Recaro seats. It’s important to note that the driver's seat has been replaced with a Recaro bucket seat.

I am confident that this vehicle will be ready to be loaded onto a ship very soon. Stay tuned for updates!
