Auction success report - 2015 Daihatsu Copen Robe S LA400K Blue
We won the auction for a Robe S!
We're pleased to announce that we successfully bid on a 2015 Daihatsu Copen Robe S LA400K (blue) at auction today. This is our first Robe, and also our first S-grade vehicle in stock.
Let's quickly review the vehicle's specifications.
It's a 2015 model with approximately 77,400 km (48,375 miles) on the odometer. It has an overall rating of 4.5 (interior rating B), a blue body, and a black interior package. It's a one-owner vehicle. According to the damage diagram, the number of scratches and dents appears to be limited.
Furthermore, it appears to have numerous aftermarket upgrades, including a Fujitsubo exhaust, Bridgestone alloy wheels, an Esquele rear wing, and PIAA daytime running lights.
As this is an S-Grade model, it comes standard with Recaro seats and Bilstein dampers. However, the driver's seat has been replaced with a full bucket seat (Recaro RS-G SK2). This is a point that may be met with mixed opinions.
Our assessment is that the black interior package is a plus, while the absence of the original Recaro driver's seat is a minus, resulting in a net zero. We also considered the aftermarket parts, but it wasn't something that warranted an aggressive bid. Therefore, we set our bid 5% higher than the standard price.
The result was a successful bid of approximately 94% of the standard price.
Perhaps the dealer hesitated because typical Japanese customers dislike the risk of not being able to revert to the original specifications. For us, unpopular models are actually an opportunity.
While second-generation Copens in good condition tend to fetch high prices, this particular unit seems to be available at a relatively reasonable price.
This vehicle will also be transported to our partner, Wadachi Garage, for inspection, and we will report the inspection results in 1-2 weeks.
