Import vehicle preparation report - Toyota Copen LA400A GR Sport 2020 Red (Part 2)
The inspection of the 2020 Toyota Copen GR Sport LA400A (Red) has been completed, and the items requiring maintenance and the evaluation results against IVA standards have been received. These inspections were carried out at our partner company, Wadachi's inspection factory, and we have received a detailed report.
Today, I would like to explain the maintenance items; the IVA evaluation will be reported in the next blog post.
In Japan, there are detailed regulations for the "2-Year Statutory Inspection and Maintenance (60 items)" which should be performed every two years, and the "1-Year Statutory Inspection and Maintenance (29 items)" which should be performed annually. For vehicles acquired at auction, we perform the "2-Year Statutory Inspection and Maintenance" as a precaution.
Specific maintenance items include: engine oil and filter replacement, engine accessory belt replacement, spark plug replacement, MTF replacement, brake fluid replacement, air cleaner replacement, air conditioning filter replacement, air conditioning refrigerant replacement, and wiper blade replacement. In addition, we replaced the upper mounts (found to be faulty) and the worn floor mats.
Regarding the audio system, the original lacked an English display and smartphone connectivity, which was problematic. Therefore, we replaced it with a Bluetooth-enabled DSP amplifier, enabling smartphone use.
A Copen specialist conducts driving tests and active top operation tests, minimising the risk of major problems being discovered after import.
Even a vehicle in pristine condition is still a used car with an unknown history. We believe that thorough inspection and maintenance contribute to safe driving and cost savings over the vehicle's lifetime.
