Import vehicle preparation report - Toyota Copen LA400A GR Sport 2020 Red (Part 1)

The 2020 Toyota Copen GR Sport LA400A (red) that we recently won at auction has arrived at our partner Wadachi's inspection factory.

Since this vehicle is a 2020 model, it is subject to IVA testing, so any modifications must be returned to their original condition. Also, any missing or faulty original parts will be repaired.

It's cheaper to source and replace second-generation Copen original parts in Japan, so we will thoroughly inspect and service all legally mandated items. We will also change the fluids and air conditioning refrigerant before loading it onto the ship.

Based on today's report, we only have a rough idea, but we've confirmed that the underbody has been rustproofed, which will help reduce costs.

The GR Sport offers five optional aero parts developed by TRD. This particular vehicle has three: side steps, front corner spoilers, and rear corner spoilers, but the front spoiler and rear trunk spoiler were missing. It definitely looks bad without the front lip spoiler, so we've decided to install it.

The scheduled inspection date is still a little way off, so I'll report the results on the blog as soon as I know them.
