What is the new Copen?
Today, I'd like to write about the "new Copen." I chose this topic so you can learn more about the "second-generation Copen," which many of you refer to as the "new Copen."

Oh, and by the way, in Japan, the second-generation Copen is commonly called the "LA400K," so please remember and use that name. Incidentally, the first-generation Copen is called the L880K.
The LA400 Copen was released in 2014, and new production ended at the end of 2025. Its most distinctive feature is its "interchangeable body style."
The first model with an interchangeable body style was the "ROBE," announced in 2014. After that, the round-headlight "CERO," the crossover-style "XPLAY," and the "GR SPORT," jointly developed with Toyota's GR brand, were announced in succession. So, there are four different styles. However, in Japan, many owners partially customise their cars. For example, some owners enjoy swapping the bumper on their CERO for a GR SPORT bumper.
In terms of performance, there are three types: Standard, S, and GR. The S grade features a sporty suspension and interior, while the GR is tuned for a more luxurious handling experience.

Colour is an important factor when choosing a car. Our demo car, the S2000, is yellow, so we wanted a yellow CERO as well. We couldn't get one, so we went with a blue CERO. It looks pretty good.
