Upgrades - Daihatsu Copen Cero (Overview)
Now that we have all four second-generation Daihatsu Copen models in stock (Showroom) and have completed our initial reports, we’re excited to embark on a journey of transformation for our demo car. This first instalment invites you to envision what’s possible.
BUILD-TO-ORDER
We started ordering parts last summer, and they arrived at our workshop between January and March. The made-to-order nature of Japanese aero parts and alloy wheels reminds us that great things take time, typically four months from order to delivery.
BODY KITS
The aero parts form a complete kit from our partner, Take Off, illustrating our commitment to quality as we handle everything from surface preparation and painting to installation.
WHEELS & TYRES
The alloy wheels, RAYS VOLK RACING TE37 SONIC in special Dash White, echo the distinctive style of the S2000’s CE28N-plus. At 16 inches in diameter with a width of 6J and an offset of 42, they embody precision. Custom-made long studs and hub-centric spacers ensure a perfect fit for the 195-width tyres.
SUSPENSION
For the suspension, we’re enhancing performance with camber-adjustable front upper mounts and rear axle components from MoFac, along with a lowered suspension that celebrates the potential of the 195 tyre width.
BRAKE SYSTEM
Our braking system features Endless 6-piston front callipers and large rotors, paired with racing brake shoes at the rear, delivering exceptional stopping power.
RESTORATION
In preparation for our maintenance schedule, we organised the stock parts diagrams, meticulously selected replacement parts, and created a comprehensive plan to ensure that crucial elements such as hub bearings, engine mounts, suspension bushes, steering rack bushes, door checkers, and the thermostat are addressed.
MONITORING
We continue to prioritise performance with the Defi Advance SE monitoring system, featuring four gauges and sensors to track water temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, and turbo boost, empowering us with knowledge behind the wheel.
BRACES
When it comes to body braces, we are replacing the stock centre brace with a Tanabe lightweight version to maintain road clearance as we lower the vehicle, while the DSPORT motion control beam enhances stability. The addition of a 6-point roll cage from Saito Roll Cage signifies our dedication to safety and rigidity.
DRIVER’S COMFORT
For the driver’s environment, we have chosen the BRIDE Zeta VI seat, coupled with an independent seat rail from MoFac, and the NARDI x MAX ORIDO steering wheel with a long steering boss from WORKS BELL, creating an immersive driving experience.
INTERIOR
Lastly, we are elevating the interior's aesthetic through carbon wrapping and suede upholstery, transforming worn elements into a harmonious blend of style and comfort. This is not just a car; it’s a vision brought to life.
