Import vehicle preparation report - 2015 Daihatsu Copen Xplay LA400K Khaki (Part 4)
The long-awaited rare vehicle, the khaki-colored, lifted Xplay, has arrived!
Of course, I also love the bright red 2020 GR Sport and the red Cero loaded with optional parts, which are already registered and on sale.

Now, let's take a look at the work we've done since receiving the vehicle. Let's get started!
First, I take photos of the current state. This is necessary for comparison with the images taken two months ago before departing from Yokohama Port. I take lots of photos.
After taking the photos, I wash the car, which has become covered in dust during its two-month sea voyage. While doing this, I check the vehicle's condition and visualize the points where the "deep cut polish" will be applied later. Since it's a 10-year-old vehicle, there are bound to be various issues.
For example, the louvers. They're faded. This is an issue that occurs in almost all vehicles. Let's use the right chemicals to restore as much shine as possible. And then there's the dullness of the windshield frame. This is also a common problem. Actually, this isn't fading. It's just dirt. Polishing it with a compound will make it shiny again.
By the way, imported vehicles have various information written on their windows. This must also be removed before they can pass the MOT inspection. The ink can be easily removed with alcohol, so let's quickly erase it. Another slightly troublesome task is removing the double-sided tape that holds the paper attached to the inside of the window in place. This can also be removed with alcohol, but it takes a little time.
After washing the car, I prepare it for the MOT test. I don't want to waste a single day, so as soon as I receive the vehicle, I want to finish the preparations as quickly as possible and take it to the local MOT centre. The only special work involved is installing the rear fog lights. I carefully protect the wiring with corrugated tubing while wiring the rear fog lights. On the Xplay, there are reverse lights on both sides, so I converted the right side to a rear fog light. I also apply sealant to prevent water from getting in.
While I was at it, I polished the HKS exhaust. The white dampers and red springs you can see are part of the highly sought-after "MOFAC" ride-height-raising kit. Looks cool, doesn't it?
The engine bay is standard. It's quite dusty and I'd like to wash it, but I'll hold off for now. My priority is to get the MOT done first, and then send the registration application to the DVLA!
This Xplay will be fitted with separately sourced WORK CRAG T-GRAVIC wheels and 175/65/15 size tyres to give it a cool look before being put up for sale!
