Import vehicle preparation report - 2015 Daihatsu Copen Cero LA400K Red (Part 1)
The 2015 Daihatsu Copen Cero LA400K (red) that I recently won at auction has arrived at our partner Wadachi's inspection facility.
Because this vehicle is a 2015 model, it is exempt from IVA inspection, and modifications can be left as they are. Of course, it must pass the MOT inspection, so excessive modifications are unacceptable, and any missing or defective genuine parts will be repaired before it is loaded onto the ship.
For the second-generation Copen, it is more cost-effective to procure and replace both genuine and aftermarket parts domestically in Japan before loading onto the ship. Therefore, all legally required items will be thoroughly inspected and serviced as a pre-check.
Today, it seems they were able to quickly check the vehicle's condition by putting it on the lift. In particular, I was relieved from a cost perspective to confirm that the undercarriage had been rust-proofed and that there were no problems with the windshield.
I also confirmed that this vehicle is equipped with a body brace developed by TRD for the GR Sport model. Furthermore, it's packed with attractive features, including a front lip spoiler, a powerful exhaust system, and Focal audio speakers! We'll provide more details about the equipment in a future blog post.
The scheduled inspection and maintenance is next week, and we'll announce it on the blog as soon as it's completed.
