J-mode Front Lip Spoiler Installation - Daihatsu Copen L880K/L881K

TR imports UK - Jmode Front Lip for Copen L880K

The customer is the owner of this Daihatsu Copen 1.3 (L881K). The work involves three things: installing a front lip spoiler, installing a radiator panel, and replacing the air cleaner. The image above shows the car after installation. Isn't it a great finish? Now, let's look at the work procedure.

The product arrived perfectly packaged. They even included an inner box to prevent crushing (though it's not visible in the picture). Truly, Japanese quality!

The box dimensions are 152 cm in one length. EMS mail has a 150 cm per length limit, so it's over the limit. However, we can import it using the EXW method (a pickup arrangement). This is another advantage of using our service.

The first task after opening the box is to apply protective tape. This is to prevent the spoiler's edge from scratching the body.

Before installing the spoiler, we have installed the DSPORT radiator air plate. This product is designed specifically for the L880K, so it cannot be bolted directly onto the L881K (1.3L engine). Therefore, some modifications are required, such as drilling holes in the brackets, changing the bolt shape, inserting thicker washers, and modifying the panel shape, to install it. It's installed nicely!

Now, let's move on to preparing for the spoiler installation. First, remove the large license plate. If it's firmly attached with double-sided tape, use a hot air gun to warm the tape and soften it, then use a fishing line or something similar to peel it off.

I wanted to remove the remnants of the old tape as well, but since the customer is in a hurry, we'll skip this step.

Clean the bumper, and the preliminary preparations are complete.

This product offers an excellent fit, eliminating the need for double-sided tape or sealants. Its design ensures a secure hold with just four holes for self-tapping screws.

The material is relatively flexible, and the edges are smoothly crafted, setting it apart from hard, thick FRP products. This superior quality results in a superb appearance after installation.

This time, the customer chose the option of a ducted and painted finish. The duct installation is excellent, and the pinhole-free paint finish is very beautiful.

This product takes about eight weeks from order to completion. Almost all purely Japanese-made aero parts are made to order and handcrafted, so please keep in mind that it takes time. If you want it by spring, you can place your order in the fall of the previous year and schedule the installation during the winter.

Since we've installed such a beautiful spoiler, let's clean the engine bay as well. This time, the customer was in a hurry, so we did a quick 10-minute clean. Even so, it looks much cleaner at a glance.

For customers with more time, please try our thorough cleaning course. Our wrinkle painting service for the cylinder head cover is also very popular.

And then, the air filter replacement. It was quite dirty, wasn't it? It's no exaggeration to say that engine performance depends on fresh air. Check it regularly and replace the air filter frequently. Please contact us for procurement and replacement of service parts.

The new, good-sized license plate (303 x 152 millimetres, the size of a JDM license plate) has been bolted on, and the work is complete.
