Honda S2000 Restoration & Tuning Index - Our S2000 Isn't Just a Demo Car
Philosophy
Five years ago, I bought what looked like an ordinary 2005 Honda S2000 UKDM.
Today, it has become something completely different.
Not because we've chased huge horsepower figures.
Not because we've built a show car.
But because we've spent five years understanding how every part of the car works.
Every strange noise.
Every weak point.
Every improvement.
This page is an index of that journey—and the beginning of many stories I'll be sharing in the future.
Fundamental Work
Start Line
Before modifying any car, I always want to understand its condition.
I call this fundamental work.
Cleaning.
Measuring.
Checking.
Restoring.
Only when those foundations are correct do I begin upgrading the car.
Why? It's simple. Every car tells you what it needs—you just have to listen.
Track Development
The Goal Before the Parts
Before choosing any parts, I first decided what I wanted this car to become.
Rather than chasing the highest horsepower or building an extreme show car, I wanted a fast, reliable and confidence-inspiring S2000 that could be driven hard on both road and track.
Everything we've done over the past five years follows three simple principles:
Increase rear chassis rigidity and rear braking performance
to reduce nose-dive under braking and create a more stable platform at corner entry.
Eliminate unnecessary power losses and known weak points
to improve reliability while aiming for around 250 PS from the naturally aspirated F20C.
Run 9.5J wheels without a wide-body conversion
by improving suspension geometry and steering clearance, allowing maximum mechanical grip while retaining the original body lines.
Engine Efficiency
Track Testing
We didn't build this car on paper.
We tested it.
Changed it.
Measured it again.
Then went back to the circuit.
Track Testing with Bradley
To be continued
This page will continue to grow.
Every upgrade has a reason.
Every modification has been tested.
Every lesson learned will eventually become another article.
If you're building your own S2000, I hope our experience helps you enjoy yours even more.
This isn't the end of the project—it's simply where the story begins.
